This
game is shareware. Version available for download here will expire after 50 games (games
with score less than 10 don't count). Visit
registration page
or click on info menu after
installation for details about registering. Btw, it's cheap: for $10 you get Monochrome Lines and
my other shareware game Minefield
(minesweeper with score equal to number of mouse
clicks). |

There
are two ways to install Monochrome Lines.- Download a SMALL zip file (135K), using top link
from the table below. However, not all computers have all the necessary libraries needed to run this
program. And, if you know little about computers, complete setup (see below) is advised. If you choose to
download this small file, unzip it (using either DOS pkunzip or winzip) to a directory of your choice
(preferably new, empty directory). Then you can (try to) run it, create a shortcut, or do whatever you
like.
- Download COMPLETE SETUP (1645K, zip archive). After downloading, unzip it to a directory
of your choice (preferably new, empty directory; note that you can erase setup files later), and run
setup.exe. After installation, Monochrome Lines will appear on your start menu.
When you decide you had enough of Monochrome Lines, go to control
panel->add/remove software and uninstall
it.
This program
is for windows 95, NT or later. It can't run under earlier versions of windows. It will run
under any newer versions of windows.
What's the difference between well known DOS lines game
and Monochrome Lines?
- You
get 2 points for each ball removed from the board, doesn't matter how many of them you removed
in a move. If you pass, you get 1 point.
- You
do get points if computer creates you a line by randomly placing new balls at
proper positions.
- You can choose between 6,7, and 8 different types (colors) of
balls. Recommended number is 7.
- You can always see your local high scores table, and you can
submit your scores to official internet high scores table, located on this page.
- Make sure you
check out the options menu and instructions after you start the
game.
HIGH SCORES
LIST
Anyone
interested in comparing high scores? Email me
your score, by attaching ml.ini
file (which you will find in your monochrome lines directory). Make sure you attach it as
binary, not plain text file!
If you wish to enter this list, note that you may use a nickname,
and that you don't have to make your email address
public.
Important note:
due to bug discovered in v2.0 and earlier,
high scores will only be accepted from v2.1 or higher (downloaded after February the 18th,
2001). Another note: ml.ini was named bwl.ini before

If
you like minesweeper but hate to hurry and would prefer to play it with a coup of coffee, then try
my Minefield game. Score equals number of mouse clicks,
not the time. Game can be saved and loaded (but not if you plan to enter internet high scores list). And more
options...
